Family fishing trips is a great way to get quality time with your kids.
If you’re looking to take your Kona family vacation from memorable to truly unforgettable, join Hooked Up for a customized family fishing trip for you and your kids. We specialize in fishing with children in a way that’s both safe and fun, which is why we offer a variety of unique opportunities, from trolling for pelagic fish, to small tuna fishing at one of our buoys, to bottom fishing for big jacks. Whichever you choose, Hooked Up is a great way to spend the day with the family. If you’re uncertain of the exact fishing trip your kids would like best, leave it to us; we always make sure to combine the type of fishing we do when we’re out to get the most action. Hooked Up has large side rails around the cockpit area with plenty of shade, and the crew is great with kids. In fact, Captain Chuck has two children Zac and Hana who grew up fishing on the boat themselves. As Captain Chuck puts it, “I enjoy taking kids out fishing. I see the excitement and joy my two children get after landing a fish, and I know how important it is to get other kids involved and hook their own fish.”
Just a follow-up to say, again, how much we enjoyed our charter with you last Wednesday, and especially to thank you again for those wahoo fillets!!! I know it’s not something that all the captains do, and we really appreciated it. We prepared them as recommended and they were spectacular! Great recipe (panko, etc.). We’ll be happy to recommend “Hooked Up” to anyone we know traveling to Kona.
Just wanted to say thanks for a great trip. We made a long run offshore, but it paid off. We ended up with 3 Mahi, 2 of them were nice sized. My wife ended up with the jackpot fish, hooked with a small popper on your light outfit. It gave her a pretty nice battle. Rick had to back down on it to keep it from taking too much line. It was pretty funny. We also got one on a live skipjack– I was surprised a Mahi that size ate it!
Great trip, tell Jim and Rick I said thanks again.
Here are a few photos, in case you want some material to post on the web. The last is a picture of the Mahi, fresh off the grill at Rosas. Thanks again!
I just wanted to say thanks for the 3rd awesome fishing trip in a row. Last year I was lucky enough to catch a 95 lb. sailfish and Russ caught a 180 lb. blue marlin, and we got several mai mai, ono, and tuna on the south point 2 day trip. this year I was lucky enough to catch a 300 lb. blue marlin and Gayle caught a 150 lb. blue marlin. what a trip it was. You, your boat, and the crew is the best thanks again.
Libby and I had a great time with you last Thursday. While we didn’t catch a Marlin, the 46″ Amberjack gave me a good fight. I hope next time we come back we can bring our sons.
I had a Blast with you guys last week. I hope you get into a Grander for Lou. I lost my Marlin but at least I had him on and learned a lot from Rocky on fighting A big fish. Next year will be my time. I landed on Sun. and it was snowing. Well Back to work.
Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time with Rick and Shawn on our full day charter (sorry you couldn’t be with us)!!!!
See you next May!!!!
Thanks again for the fantastic fishing charter. All the best to you and I hope we go fishing again sometime in the future.
Thanks Chuck and Kerry for a fun afternoon. So glad we caught our dinner. Your brother treated us royally. Great dinner.
You guys rock! What a ride we had. That’s the kind of fishing dreams are made of! We will treasure the experience forever and look forward to hangin with you again in the near future. All I can say is Wow! We are sore. RJ, we love ya. I can only assume your butt was kicked as well… Much love, hope to see you guys soon.
Thanks again for a good day on the 27th. It was great landing the big yellowfin tuna and thanks to Bevan for his help. It was a pity we didn’t hook a marlin. My brother saw in the next day’s West Hawaii paper that you had hooked 4 the previous week -such is fishing.
Thanks again and if/when we return to the Big Island we will be out with you again.
